Mr. Denman’s teaching philosophy is rooted in preparing students to be thoughtful, engaged citizens. He emphasizes critical thinking, clear communication, and respectful discourse, aiming to make learning both meaningful and enjoyable. Through simulations, collaborative projects, and interactive lessons, he creates an engaging classroom environment where students are encouraged to explore their interests deeply.

At HArts, Mr. Denman is particularly proud of his students’ work on the Los Angeles history and cultural museums, which showcased their creativity and dedication. His classroom is nearly paperless, with assignments and communications managed online, and he integrates technology, including AI, to enhance student learning.

Outside of school, Mr. Denman enjoys fantasy football, cycling, film noir, great music, and reading. A lifelong learner and adventurer, he spent a year studying at the University of Nairobi in Kenya. He is also an avid fan of the Marx Brothers, collecting books and movies about them. Above all, he cherishes spending time with his wife and daughter.

As he looks forward to retirement, Mr. Denman remains dedicated to his students and committed to fostering a positive and energetic classroom environment.
