Mr. Aguirre teaches AP Literature and serves as the Director of Student Affairs at the school—a role that encompasses various responsibilities. He holds a degree in Business Marketing from California State University, Long Beach, and a teaching credential in English from California State University, Dominguez Hills.
Mr. Aguirre's teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that every student has the capacity to learn and grow. He views students as contributors to a shared learning environment, each bringing unique experiences, insights, and abilities to the classroom. Mr. Aguirre strives to foster a culture where students feel valued for their individuality and are encouraged to share their perspectives and knowledge. By nurturing a growth mindset, he aims to empower students to realize that their potential is limitless when paired with perseverance and effort.
One of Mr. Aguirre’s proudest accomplishments is helping to start the school with colleagues Mrs. Broadbent, Mrs. Infante-Smith, Mr. Bunnell, Mrs. Bezelj, and former principal Mr. Fisher. He is passionate about teaching both business and English and uses technology to engage students, allowing them to present their ideas and collaborate effectively.
Outside the classroom, Mr. Aguirre enjoys playing golf, spending time with his family, and cheering for the LA Dodgers. He is also honored to be a recipient of the Golden Apple Teacher of the Year award. His professional goals include expanding the school’s reach and continuing to teach the HArts Way. Fun fact: Mr. Aguirre loves to travel and cook.
