Biography
Ms. Renita Matthews is an enthusiastic and dedicated paraprofessional assisting students with Algebra 1/2. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Notre Dame de Namur University in California and a Paralegal Certification. Her teaching philosophy is centered on the belief that students learn best when they have a say in what they learn and are encouraged to be self-directed learners.
Ms. Renita fosters student growth by encouraging her students to believe in themselves and to try everything, embracing a mindset of exploration and resilience. She particularly enjoys teaching students Algebra and loves seeing her students progress in their understanding of the subject.
Outside the classroom, Ms. Renita serves as the Narbonne Drill Team Supervisor, contributing to the school community by guiding and supporting students in extracurricular activities. She also balances her life with hobbies such as reading, watching TV, and cooking, using weekends for self-care activities to maintain her well-being.
In the future, Ms. Renita aspires to become a paralegal and attend law school, continuing her pursuit of knowledge and growth. A fun fact about her is that she minored in French and community and criminal justice during college, demonstrating her wide range of interests and expertise.
