Andrew Ahn serves as a PSA Counselor with five years of experience, dedicated to helping students overcome challenges and succeed in their academic journey. He holds a B.S. in Psychology from the University of Texas at Dallas and an M.S. in Counseling from California State University, Los Angeles, specializing in School Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy.
Andrew believes in the inherent ability of students to thrive when provided with personalized guidance. He emphasizes the importance of individualized support, rejecting a "one size fits all" approach. By creating a warm and welcoming environment, he offers students a safe space to share their concerns, helping them process and overcome obstacles.
As an attendance counselor, Andrew works closely with students and their families to address barriers to regular school attendance, understanding that consistent attendance is crucial for academic, social, and emotional success. He utilizes platforms like Schoology to maintain communication and shares attendance initiatives with students and families.
Andrew also collaborates with local stakeholders to establish community partnerships that support attendance recognition ceremonies. Outside of work, he enjoys longboarding, hiking, and strength & conditioning. In 2024, he was honored with the Golden Apple Award. His proudest moments come from hearing from former students and seeing the positive impact of improved attendance on their overall growth.
