With 21 years of teaching experience, Wendella Francis is a dedicated and passionate RSP teacher who believes in supporting students by developing their critical thinking skills and inspiring a love for learning. She holds a Master's Degree in Special Education from National University in Los Angeles and has achieved National Board Certification, a milestone she is particularly proud of.

Mrs. Francis views herself as a facilitator, providing the guidance and tools students need to thrive. She engages students through think-share-pair activities, whiteboard exercises, and small group work. In her RSP role, she varies content and instruction to meet the diverse needs and learning profiles of her students, believing that meeting students where they are is key to their success.

Math is her favorite subject to teach, and she is excited to implement project-based learning (PBL) in her learning center classes. By incorporating technology, she aims to have her students collaborate, research, and create math projects that foster deeper understanding. In addition, she is actively involved in the E-Sports Club, where she helps students explore new interests and skills.

Outside of the classroom, Mrs. Francis enjoys cooking, taking long walks, and spending quality time with her family. She maintains a healthy work-life balance by listening to music and immersing herself in her hobbies.

One of her proudest achievements is seeing her students grow and develop over time, especially those who initially struggled. Observing significant improvements in their skills and behavior is one of the most rewarding aspects of her career. Mrs. Francis also enjoys mentoring new teachers, helping them navigate their early years in the profession.

Looking ahead, Mrs. Francis is eager to continue her mentorship work and implement new teaching strategies, such as using vertical whiteboards to build student thinking in math. A fun fact about her that many might not know is that she is a cancer survivor, and her strength and resilience continue to inspire those around her.

Mrs. Francis is deeply committed to working with the special education community and finds great joy in helping her students succeed.
